We use Source-Connect basically as an ISDN replacement over the internet. You may find you'll have to configure your hardware firewall if you have one.
Source Connect say "It's a fully featured Pro Tools plug-in which allows broadcast-quality audio to be transmitted between remote locations. Source-Connect enables audio connections between digital audio systems anywhere in the world, allowing direct-to-the-timeline recording with real-time, broadcast-quality audio using DSL internet connections."
It doesn't require expensive ISDN lines or minute-by-minute line charges.The system relies on the Source Connect servers.
We use the standard mono 96 kbps version - the quality is subjectively better that the normal 128kbps M2 ISDN format, and allows both the local & remote Pro Tools rigs to synch to each other - and thus to MOV picture files - very easily.
If a higher quality audio file is required then we'd usually just FTP the appropriate file after the session - £10 per 500MB.

- Studio + 96kbps - £150 p/h + VAT
With picture as "guide" or synched to:
- with MOV/DigiBeta/Beta SP, add £20 p/h to the relevant rate above.
